Meet Stephanie Hilger
Director of Social Media
Where are you from and how did you wind up at Blue Magnet Interactive?
I started out studying at the University of Illinois in Champaign, but decided half way into my college career that I wanted to study marketing in the heart of the city where I could get some first-hand experience. I packed my bags, traveled a lengthy 2.5 hours north, and took my talents from the corn fields to Columbia College. My career started out on an entertainment marketing path after getting the opportunity to finish my bachelor's degree in L.A. at Raleigh Studios. However, my passion for writing and internet marketing landed me as a social media manager for a variety of travel websites, organizations, & businesses, and eventually to Blue Magnet.
What about Blue Magnet/your role at Blue Magnet do you love most?
The team! It's never been a competitive atmosphere here; we're all passionate about digital marketing and all want each other to succeed. Everyone is always willing to help one another and share new tips & tricks... and it doesn't hurt that they all make pretty great happy hour pals as well.
What’s your favorite thing to do in Chicago?
I'm a huge fan of Chicago (we're talking Bears - Hawks - Cubs - Bulls), so when I'm not behind the screen posting, tweeting, and copy-writing, you can find me at Wrigley Field, Soldier Field, or the United Center watching a game!
What's a fun fact about you?
I figure skated competitively for about ten years. After hanging up my skates, I have channeled my flair for entertaining into making lip sync videos with my family & friends. Stay tuned for my appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
If we lived in a world without internet, what would be your alternate career?
This is easy. I'd be the host of E! News.
If you could have dinner with anyone (living, deceased, or fictional), who would it be and why?
This has always been a tough question for me, and is also great proof of how indecisive I am. For starters, this isn't just any old dinner - it's a dinner party. John Legend would be there playing the piano. His plus one, Chrissy Teigen, would help me prepare dinner. Also on the guest list? Mark Cuban & Richard Branson (we'll talk business for a bit), the Kardashian/ Jenner clan (yes, I like to keep up), Justin Timberlake, Jimmy Fallon, Chelsea Handler, and a few other of my favorite professional athletes & celebs.
If a restaurant were to name a sandwich after you, what would be on it?
The "Stephanie Sandwich" would actually be a pizza, and it would have lots of pepperoni and giardiniera on it.
